If you ever need to transfer your progress to another device, the first thing to consider is that you'll only be able to if both devices have the same game version installed. You can find your app's game version by accessing the OPTIONS menu:
If your app versions don't match, you'll need to update them to the latest version through your device's store. Also remember that, as different operating systems require different maintenance routines, sometimes it is not possible to keep up with the same version simultaneously in 2 different platforms. In this case, you'll have to wait for a newer version to be available on your device's store.

Remember that when moving progress between different operating systems (iOS, Android), you must use Facebook as the recovery method. This is because iOS devices do not support Google Play accounts and Android devices do not support Apple accounts.
